Our activewear bathers are made from premium UPF50+ Italian performance fabrics. They're ultra resistant to chlorine, sunscreen and oils, and exceptionally durable so they retain their shape and resist pulls.

Our bather fabrics also have four way stretch for comfort, they're lightweight, fast drying and are made from recycled fibres, such as fishing nets reclaimed from the oceans. So, they're eco-friendly and sustainable too.

Our UPF50+ protection comes from the structure of our durable fabric itself - not a chemical coating or finish, avoiding concerns associated with chemical treatments, including potential PFAS considerations, and ensuring long lasting protection.

The fabric is key to a long lasting garment that feels great on.

UPF50+ is the highest rating for sun protection in clothing. It stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor. A rating of UPF50+ means the fabric blocks at least 98% of harmful UVA and UVB rays.

Our fabric has been independently tested and rated as UPF50+ (Excellent Protection) according to the Australian Government Standard (AS4399:2020) by ARPANSA (the Australian Government Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency). UPF50+ is the highest level of protection, so you can enjoy the outdoors with confidence knowing you're protected.

In contrast, a standard cotton shirt or tee generally has a UPF rating of around 5. Not solid sun protection, and doesn't even meet the "minimum" protection rating of 15! Think about that next time you see someone throw on a cotton tee at the beach.

In addition, our garments are designed to provide excellent body coverage while still looking flatteringly cute - even our short sleeve tees have sleeves that cover most of the upper arm, our neckline is not gapey (or tight) and we have a lovely flattering torso length for extra coverage.

Unlike sunscreen, UPF clothing doesn't wear off or need reapplying. It's built into the fabric offering protection wherever it covers your skin.

The UPF50+ protection in our garments comes from the structure of the high quality fabrics we use - not a chemical coating that washes off over time, avoiding concerns associated with chemical treatments including potential PFAS considerations.

As with all UPF fabrics, if the fabric has become significantly stretched out of shape, saggy or thinned in areas, protection may have deteriorated over time and it may be time to replace your garment at the end of its natural lifespan. We use premium, durable performance fabrics designed to last longer than many others. A well cared for Big Vibes Day garment, hand washed in cold water and in accordance with our care instructions, should maintain its protection and shape for years of regular use.

But even with the strongest UPF50+ protection, you are not invincible to UV exposure - seek shade and wear sunscreen on exposed areas. We provide a gorgeous piece of your sun safe armoury.

BATHER BOTTOMS:

Our bather bottoms are designed to accomodate a fuller waistline so if you have a slim waistline, size down from your normal size.

BATHER TOPS:

Our bather tops are true to size - so if your standard size for a sports bra is a size 12, go for our Size Medium. In Australian sizing:

XS = Size 6-8
S = Size 10
M = Size 12
L = Size 14
XL = Size 16.

Our model wears a size S and is an Australian size 10 and 181cm tall.

Yes! We guarantee you'll love your garment - just see our customer reviews! However, if you’re not satisfied with your purchase of any full priced garment (excluding SALE items), we will:

• refund the purchase price, no questions asked;
• or, if your order was placed within Australia, if you prefer (and subject to availability), we will exchange size or style,

if your garment posted within 14 days of receipt of purchase in new and original condition - unworn and unmarked with original swing tags still attached.

For items purchased outside of Australia, we provide refunds but we do not provide exchanges. We recommend you purchase your desired garment as soon as possible and return your existing garment to us for a full refund.
